Valentine's Day is synonymous with romance and if you've chosen this day to marry, you must be a truly romantic
soul. Let your love of romance set the stage for your Valentine's wedding and inject the theme of romantic love into every aspect of your planning.
Themed weddings typically come with extensive planning and a ton of effort. But a Valentine's Day theme kind of wraps itself up into one easy heart-shaped event. Even the smallest detail can be easily achieved with little effort making your wedding memorable. The likelihood of a do-it -yourself Valentine's Day wedding looking like a professional wedding planner did all the work is very high.
Red is the obvious and dramatic color of Valentine's romance - the traditional color of the heart as it relates to love. You can play on this color without being limited to the bright red of Hallmark Valentines. Deep burgundies and maroons are just as romantic. Decorations can include red and white roses, or deep pink roses if red is not the preferred color. Indeed, if red is not preferred, lavender, shades of pink, and white can all be substituted. This turns the whole wedding and reception into a true romantic fairyland.
Let the traditional Valentine's motif come into play at your place settings. At each seat, use a frilly Valentine's heart old fashioned Valentine for a place identifier. Centerpieces can be overflowing with blowsy flowers and ribbons. For favors you might use Whitman's Valentine candy samplers, Belgian chocolate roses or parchment scrolls with your favorite love poems. Another nice idea is small champagne glasses filled with cinnamon hearts.
Beware, roses will be extremely high priced because of the high demand.
